🖥️ New Web Editor Release

Midjourney is set to release a new web editor that combines reframe and repaint controls into a unified interface. This update is expected to roll out today and will initially be available for editing Midjourney images only. However, there are future plans to extend this functionality to non-Midjourney images, broadening the scope of what users can achieve with the tool.

🧠 Upcoming Features and Releases

A personality survey is in the works to explore the connection between personality traits and aesthetic preferences. While the release timeline for this feature remains unspecified, it promises to offer intriguing insights.

Additionally, a demographics exploration tool is nearing completion. This tool will allow users to explore the aesthetics of different demographic groups and includes an exaggeration mode to highlight differences. It is expected to be released by the end of the month.

🌐 Depth Control Net

The Depth Control Net, currently being tested with guides and moderators, is designed to work with version 6.0. The team is considering how best to integrate this feature into the interface, ensuring it enhances the user experience.

🚀 Midjourney 6.2 Model

The Midjourney 6.2 model is currently in training and is expected to be ready for testing in 1-2 weeks. This model will incorporate some V7 datasets, aiming to improve prompt accuracy and offer a more significant upgrade than the 6.1 version.

📈 Larger Batch Sizes

Midjourney is testing increased batch sizes of 8 or 16 on the website. The final decision on this will depend on the results of ongoing algorithm testing.

🎨 New Personalization System

A new personalization system is in development, allowing users to manage multiple custom models (up to 10). This system is set to be tested with guides and moderators next week and is designed to be independent of the model type, potentially being available for all versions.

📅 Release Schedule

Many features are aligning for release within the next 2-4 weeks. There is ongoing debate about what to release before versus with the 6.2 update, which is targeted for the end of the month but may extend by a week.

🔮 Long-term Projects (Next 3-4 Months)

Looking further ahead, V7 models are in training, and new video models are in development. The team is also starting a 3D data collection phase and working on drawing features. There is potential for a V8 model or a renamed V7 model in the future.

🌐 Website Updates

The minimum image requirement for website access has been lowered to 10, with plans to open the website to more users soon. The team is also considering adding room syncing between Discord and the website and focusing on unique features to differentiate the website from Discord.

📝 Miscellaneous Updates

Changes to image rating tasks are being made to gather more specific feedback. Updates to the explore and describe features are planned, and a new top bar design is under consideration.
