Imagine Weekly – Issue 12 [August 24th]

Welcome to Issue 12 of Imagine Weekly 👋

Welcome back everyone and nice and warm welcome to our new subscribers,

The excitement surrounding FLUX is still strong and likely will be for a while. So, I'll be sharing some tutorials and insights occasionally. Many of these tips are also relevant to MidJourney, although some features, like control nets that offer more control over image composition, are not yet available. Stay tuned for a tutorial about how to fine-tune FLUX to the aesthetics or subject you want.

In this issue you’ll find:

  • 🤩 Most Exciting Update

  • 📖 TL;DR; Weekly Recap of the Office Hours (or the extended recap)

  • 🎨 Some new srefs to tinker with

🤩 Most Exciting Update

Speaking of Control Net, for me, the most thrilling update at this weeks office hours is the progress of this new feature. SDXL and FLUX have already demonstrated what Control Nets are capable of. As a heavy MidJourney educator, consultant and user, I quite often look a bit jealous of the many ways FLUX can be precisely controlled compared to MidJourney, especially when used in a ComfyUI Workflow, combined with LoRaS, an IPAdapter, and in conjunction with Control Nets, among other features. The range of possibilities makes FLUX an impressive tool. However, MidJourney's exceptional web UI user experience makes it more accessible for beginners, allowing them to achieve great results without needing to understand all the intricate details. Additionally, MidJourney's new web UI editor empowers creators to do more than ever before. While FLUX can function without all the aforementioned enhancements, the unparalleled ease of use offered by MidJourney is noteworthy. Therefore I really enjoy reading about the added capabilities of MidJourney and the upcoming features the team is working on.

As with many generative AI tools, resolution is sometimes an issue Hugo Ventura, the creator of Runtime44 has done an amazing job. Definitely worth checking out:

You all have probably heard of runway. Next to Kling this is one of the big boys on the block when it comes to text-to-video or image-to-video. Look at the following video, be honest, if you’d seen this on TV, would you have guessed it's AI? It's pretty wild how far AI has come since Will Smith's wild spaghetti orgy.

And while the fuzz about the upcoming election in the US is not diminishing, the memes and content on social media are even going harder. With grok, sky is the limit as you can witness in the following video:
